Our Story
In October 1994, we flipped the open sign for the first time. With just Matt and Kelly behind the bar from open to close, Aspen Coffee Company set about changing the coffee culture in our small corner of the world. We worked with some fantastic shops and roasters in Seattle, traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe, and learned the truths of great coffee and world-class espresso. The original store in downtown Stillwater, OK, has been joined by two more locations to fuel the growing appreciation for java, blossoming into our own little three-headed monster.
Brandon joined as a partner in 2008. He is the mastermind behind Aspen’s Espresso Bar Catering, taking our espresso cafe on the road to events and receptions around town and across the state.
The Lakeview Pointe store is the home base of Lunchbox Catering. Matt gives a fresh, unique spin to serving guests at all sorts of functions.
Endo’s Roastery and Aspen Coffee are really two sides of the same coin. In 1996, most independent roasters were 1500 miles away. With few options for getting great, freshly roasted coffee beans, and more motivation than sense, we started roasting. We roast each and every batch to order, whether for our own stores or one of our clients. We use our senses and experience and a blend of art and science to coax the potential from each variety of coffee bean. No computerized roasting equipment, ever. We promise. Kelly fires up the roaster several days each week and “roasts to order” for our mail-order customers, wholesale clients, and our own stores.
